Geocaching is a world-wide phenomenon.  There are geocaches place din more than 100 nations across all seven continents.  Yes there are even geocaches hidden in Antarctica.  What else do bored arctic researchers have to do with their time?  Nearly a million people engage in geocaching and the community is growing everyday.

There are certainly communities of geocachers in every state in the United States, but the Pacific Northwest holds a special place in the lore of the game as this is the region where most people agree it was born.  Back in 2000, GPS units were just beginning to hit the market and even the earliest customers were coming up with novel uses for them.
